The story of a lil brown girl from the city
Teiona Gunn's bio
Teiona Gunn, also known as TP9, is a Christian hip-hop artist, singer, dancer, and performance coach from Kansas City, Missouri. Inspired by her sisters Keia and Helena through dance and her brother Bj Wayz through music, Teiona grew up immersed in church her mother Roslyn was a choir director, her father a preacher, and music runs through her family’s bloodline. She spent a formative time in St. Louis with a group called No Broccoli before moving to Atlanta to continue pursuing music.
Even though she had gained recognition from people like Missy Elliott, appeared on television, and performed around the world, Teiona sensed the Lord calling her to a higher purpose. In Atlanta, He convicted her to dedicate her music fully to Him, leading to the release of her first Christian album, The Switch. Her recent album Along The Way continues that mission, using music to point listeners to Jesus Christ and inspire faith in Him alone, while delivering songs that are both catchy and meaningful.
